ABOUT EMMA WOOLF
Emma Woolf is a columnist for Newsweek and The Times, writing a weekly column An Apple a Day since 2010.
Born and brought up in London, Emma studied English at Oxford University. She worked in psychology publishing before becoming a full-time writer and journalist. Her prolific output includes The Times, The Mail on Sunday, The Daily Mail, The Sunday Telegraph, The Independent, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Grazia, Red, Top Sante and Psychologies.
Emma is the co-presenter on Channel 4’s Supersize vs Superskinny, and recently gave the acclaimed Radio 4 Four Thought lecture. Other media appearances include Newsnight, Woman’s Hour, Channel 5 and Radio 4's Saturday Review. She was a finalist for Journalist of the Year in the Mind Media Awards 2012 and 2013, among other awards.
Emma's first book, An Apple a Day: A Memoir of Love and Recovery from Anorexia was published by Summersdale in 2012, and has been published in foreign editions around the world, including the USA, Germany, Korea and Italy. Her next book, The Ministry of Thin: How the Pursuit of Perfection Got Out of Control was published in 2013.
Emma is the great-niece of Virginia Woolf. Ways of Escape is her first novel, and she is currently working on her second novel, The Unintended.
